Training

Trained at the ESAD of Valencia in Textual Interpretation and at the École du Théâtre de Quebec (Canada) in Gestural Theatre and Film, she has completed her training with a Master's degree in Research in Performing Arts and Cultural Heritage from the UPV and Gender studies at the Women's Institute of Madrid.
His training includes intensive work with internationally renowned companies and teachers such as the Piccolo Teatro of Milan, the Stanislavski School of Moscow, the Odin Teatret, SITI Company, SCOT Company of Tadashi Suzuki in Japan, and training in Chekhov Technique with David Zinder and Sol Garré, Mónica Valenciano, etc.

Career path

Actress, director and theatre educator

Elena Esparcia Pinar (Albacete, 1979) is a stage director with over two decades of professional experience in both classical and contemporary theater. Her current work is characterized by a fusion of stage research, cultural heritage, and the inclusion of a gender perspective.

An actress active since 1998, she has collaborated with renowned directors such as David Zinder, Luce Pelletier, Francisco Negrín, Alejandro Jornet, Ximo Flores, and Ángel Monteagudo, among others. Her work has been presented at prominent national and international festivals, including the Autumn Festival, Fringe Madrid, Surge Madrid, Factoría Echegaray, Festival Visible, ACT BBK, Festival Encuentros Tenerife, and Bordes Escénicos, CCEMX (Mexico).

In the audiovisual field, she has developed an acting style characterized by versatility and naturalism, specializing in social issues and sexual and gender diversity. She has participated in projects recognized with the ESGAE Award and the Luna de Valencia Award, and selected for international festivals such as Berlin, Montreal, Notodofilmfest, and LGBT festivals in London. As a creator, she has developed her own projects that investigate the relationship between body, space and memory:

-Good Morning (2025, site-specific, memory and gender, Mallorca)

-Le Plaisir (2024, Carme Teatre)

-Luminaria (2021site_specific public space, gender and cultural heritage)

-In the Fury (2020, Best Performer Award at CENIT (Center for New Theatrical Researchers) 2022 in Seville.

Her work has been supported by grants for the creation and internationalization of culture from PICE, Iberescena México, Naves del Matadero, Carme Teatre, La Casa Encendida and Teatros del Canal, ETC Cuarta Pared, among others.
