Training
Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Salamanca. Graduate in Philosophy from the UNED (National University of Distance Education). Master's degree in Performing Arts and Visual Culture from ARTEA – Reina Sofía Museum and University of Alcalá. Between 2015 and 2017, he participated in the Advanced Studies in Critical Practices program at the Reina Sofía Museum (ARTEA). In 2020, he was part of the PACAP – Performing Arts Advanced Programme at Forum Dança (Lisbon), curated by João dos Santos Martins.
Career path
- Julián Pacomio (Mérida, 1986) is a performer, stage creator, and curator based between Spain and Portugal. His work lies at the intersection of choreography, performance, visual arts, and critical thinking, combining his own creation, collaboration with other artists, and curatorial research.He has worked with creators such as João Fiadeiro, Carolina Campos, Luis Garay, Nazario DíazGustavo Ciríaco and Matías Daporta, among others. Since 2018, he has been developing the stage research project with choreographer Ángela Millano. Asleep Images, which includes pieces such as Make it, don't fake it (2019) and PSYCHO (2020).Among his creative works, the following stand out: All the light of midday (2023) Apocalypse among friends or just the day (2021) No hand is an island (2020) Maker Space (2016) o My Turin Horse (2012). Her pieces have been presented in spaces and festivals such as La Casa Encendida, Matadero Madrid, CA2M, Tabakalera, Azkuna Zentroa, La Caldera, Festival Sâlmon, IVAM, Museo del Chopo (Mexico City), FIDCU (Montevideo), BoCA Biennial of Contemporary Arts (Lisbon).In 2023, she received the O Espaço do Tempo grant in collaboration with BPI and Fundación La Caixa for the development of a new creation.
As a curator, he is a co-founder of the NOVO Festival in Lisbon and has developed cycles and exhibitions such as To contemplate an unstable surface (La Casa Encendida, 2021) or NO NO NO JUST JUST NO (INJUVE, 2020). She is part of various collectives and creative spaces such as Bullshit, Atelier Real and PISCINA, participating in international festivals and platforms.
