FAQs

Each course culminates in a final composition project, designed to accompany the progression of the students: from writing for small ensembles in the early years, to creating works for orchestra in the final stage of the degree.
Each year, two major projects are undertaken. One focuses on stylistic imitation, while the other encourages students to develop their own unique voice, but analyzed and defended using the same criteria.
Important projects:
1st: compositions for solo instruments, duo and trio
2nd: Compositions for modern music: sextet (rhythm section + wind section).
3rd: compositions for string quartet, voice and percussion.
4th: compositions for orchestra applied to the image (static or moving).

From the second year onwards, students can actively participate by joining ensembles, playing instruments, singing, or applying real-time audio processing (live electronics). Composition projects are open to experimentation and exploration of new genres and techniques.

Yes, there is financial aid available for studying. TAI We offer various types of financial aid and payment plans to help you develop your career in music. Musical composition focuses on the creation of the music itself: the melodies, harmonies, structures, and arrangements that shape a work. The composer develops the artistic idea and defines the musical language that makes it unique.
Music production, on the other hand, focuses on how that music sounds and is realized in a recording. It involves working with performance, mixing, effects, technology, and digital tools to achieve the final result we hear on a record, film, or digital platform.
In short, composition is the idea and the score; production is the sound and the listening experience. Both disciplines complement each other, and in today's context, the professional musician/composer typically uses tools from both areas.

If you love music and can play one or more instruments, you may have already discovered your calling. Musical composition combines creativity with technique, so prior studies at schools or conservatories are also a good sign that you'll be comfortable. If you're interested in composing in any style and don't want to limit yourself to classical music or close doors to composing in different genres, TAI It offers you the only university and in-person option.
