Analysis of the soundtrack as a key tool in filmmaking, its relationship to narrative, editing, and viewer emotion.

STAGING WORKSHOP

Puesta in escena

Staging as a key element in the creation and composition of an audiovisual work. A study of various cinematic devices in a conceptual journey that ranges from fiction to metafiction. The key aspects of serial storytelling are also addressed, and filmic practices for scene resolution with different grammatical approaches are developed.

Film Practice I

Practical staging exercise through a series of collaborative shoots with students from different film disciplines. Work developed on a film set based on previously selected scripts, exploring various narrative and stylistic approaches. Application of audiovisual grammar, actor direction, and interdepartmental organization in a real production environment.

ADVERTISING WORKSHOP

Advertising: fashion film and music video

Analysis of advertising genres and subgenres, with a special emphasis on those that offer a unique audiovisual narrative. A practical overview of the specific processes and methodologies used in the creation of treatments and dossiers. A conceptual study of the keys to advertising creativity.

An immersion in the realms of non-fiction, analyzing its evolution over time, its references, and its essential forms, from creative documentary to experimental cinema, including essay films, self-reflective cinema, found footage, fake films, and video art practices.

Film Practice IV

Exploration of new narrative and experimental forms in non-fiction through the autonomous development of an authorial documentary piece. Creation of personal works that address film essays, archival reconfiguration, performative intervention, and expanded documentary.

PROJECTS

Screenplay Development

Development of at least one scripted story based on the premises of the Master's Project Guide. A deeper understanding of the dramatic structure of the short film format based on a premise developed by the students.

Project development mentoring (joint and cross-cutting)

The mentoring sessions aim to culminate in the completion of a film project in the form of a short fiction film. They are complemented by pitching and presentation formats. The sessions include both individual and joint and cross-disciplinary mentoring, in which students from the various Master's in Film programs share creative processes with mentors from different specialties. This approach allows for expanding knowledge beyond their own discipline and enriching project development from a collective and multidisciplinary perspective.

Filming, editing and post-production of a fiction project

A cross-cutting project across all the film master's degrees that make up the student portfolio.
The process includes a preselection of a certain number of short films, which will be produced under specific conditions. All other projects will be carried out according to the premises established in the Project Guide. Production of a short film is mandatory and is linked to obtaining the title.
Participation in assistantships and complementary positions on projects with other students as a basis for understanding teamwork.
All information related to fiction projects is found in the Project Guide, which is mandatory. This guide is complemented by a timeline that includes all relevant dates in the project's progress.
