Contemporary Film Narratives

Transversal content (common for several masters) that seeks an approach to the most current trends in cinematography from a narrative and aesthetic perspective.

Editing Technology

Thorough knowledge of the working environment in Avid. Ordering and categorization of files in Browser, Codecs, conversions, Timeline, processes and exports.

Fiction Editing

Assembly typologies. Rhythm. Temporality. Continuity and ellipsis. The construction of the speech. The narrative structure and expectations in cinema. The choice of point of view. The serial narrative.

Advertising Editing

Advertising and its genres. Fragmentation and advertising ellipsis. The aesthetics of rhythm. Temporary hyperbolizations. Creation of audiovisual content for interactive media.

Documentary Editing

Characteristics of the creative documentary and its specific creative processes. Documentary modalities. Creative processes in the editing room.


Technology and work environment in After Effects

Organization and philosophy of work in After Effects. Layers, key frames and tools. Exports, imports and workflows in Adobe environment.

Sign Design and Animation

Principles of graphic design. Generation of labels, movement dynamics and animations. Generation of funds. Credit titles.

Graphic creation and animation

Generation of elements and graphic pieces in 2D. Animation and embedding on real image. Visual creativity.

Visual effects in After Effects

Tools for VFX in After Effects. Inlays, rotoscoping, trajectories and basic modifications of the image.


Photography Concepts

Principles of photography. Exposure, shutter, color temperature, contrast ratio, depth of field and creative use of lenses.

Color Psychology and Color Management

Theory of color. Chromatic tables and synthesis of color formation. Design of the chromatic palette and its emotive use. Color depth. Dynamic range. Color spaces.

Technology and Processes

Work environments in DaVinci and Mistika. Flows, processes and tools. Color grading from files with different compression levels. Color grading of RAW files. Check Panel.

Regulations, Curves and LUTs

Modification of looks from preset curves and LUTs. Standards of style and broadcast according to channels, platforms or types of projection.

Grading and Color Correction with DaVinci and Mistika

Tutoring and monitoring in planning the editing and grading of the fiction project.

Non-fiction project: commercial or documentary

Tutoring and monitoring in planning the assembly of the non-fiction project (advertising or documentary).

Pitching Projects

Presentation and pre-selection of the projects to be carried out during the academic year.

Fiction Short Film

Development of a fiction short film that constitutes the main and obligatory project of the Masters TAI.

nonfiction short film

To choose between (both projects are linked to one of the optional modules provided in the master):
- Fashion film or music video: development of an advertising piece in any of its variants.
- Creative documentary or experimental short film: development of a non-fiction piece in any of its variants.
