'The Guilt' | Elena Puchol

Stage work; contemporary dance

Guilt is a fictional reality, an opportunity to understand that version of yourself you can't let out. Contemplative chapters delve into the concept of guilt from a psychological and religious perspective, questioning and reflecting on its morality.

Darkness.
Mercy. Forgiveness. Nightmare of life.
He whispers in my ear, his poison in every heartbeat with a cold voice.

That emotion that lives within each of us with its own personality, powerful enough to manipulate us. Remorse. Shame. Condemnation. Enlightenment. A person can feel guilty for something they did, for something they didn't do, for something they thought they had done, or for not having done enough. Few emotions are as problematic and at the same time as dangerous.

ELENA PUCHOL
Elena Puchol is a Valencian artist working in dance, choreography, audiovisual production, and production. She trained in classical and contemporary dance in Valencia, London, and Madrid, where she also studied audiovisual production. 'NOCTURNAL' | Daniel M. Torres

Experimental ethnographic cinema and photobook

NOCTURNA is a multidisciplinary experimental documentary project, consisting of a documentary film and a photobook, that immersive and almost obscenely portrays Mexico City's underground nightlife. The project focuses on the emergence of a new subculture of clandestine raves within the city.

NOCTURNA captures those fleeting moments shared on the dance floor by a group of people who, like me, gathered there around the music. At night. Because we didn't fit anywhere else. A cinematic and photographic exploration of rebellious beauty and the futuristic freedom of identity expressed through the powers and mysticism of bodies shaking on the dance floor.

DANIEL M. TORRES
Daniel M. Torres (1989, Mexico) is a filmmaker and documentary photographer with an experimental sensory ethnographic approach. My artistic practice centers on the intersection of identity expression, youth, and the search for freedom. My focus is on contemporary practices and customs within modern cities that are often not considered "worthy" of portraying. My focus is not on "the other"; but on "us."

Successes TAI LANZA

2024st Edition XNUMX of the Artistic Residencies TAI LANZA

Between March and October 2024, it hosted five proposals that included creations where all kinds of artistic disciplines were hybridized and investigated: performing arts that coexist with the live cinema (The Limit by Santiago Mayorga and Julian Restrepo), sound investigations that dialogue with the dance theatre and electronic music (Three scenes and an epilogue (or how to find that light) by Adrián Crespo Barba), contemporary photography (Taken for Granted… by Iñigo Lasheras), film narratives (Flor by Claudia Cominges) or sound installations that interconnect performance and cyber fashions (Coctelpetisuí Collective).

Five projects have found, within the framework of this program, logistical support, financial aid and guidance through consultancy with which to grow and evolve their work and then be able to present themselves in prestigious national and international artistic spaces.

This was the case, among others, of the intermedial stage work El Límite which, after its appearance at LANZA, was awarded the international circulation grant from the Ministry of Arts and Culture of Colombia, which allowed them to present their work in venues in Barcelona, Lisbon, London and also Madrid. Or the project "Three scenes and an epilogue (or how to find that light)" by the artist A. Crespo Barba which, thanks to his participation in the Residency, managed to have a tangible, feasible and quality work to present at various European festivals, or like the exhibition at the i23 gallery in Madrid of the photographic project "Taken for granted, almost invisible, certainly indescribable" by the photographer Íñigo Lasheras, who currently resides in Montreal.
