A publication and an exhibition, Styx y This dust makes this mud, They synthesize the essence, talent and vision of a generation of artists willing to experiment, take risks and challenge established discourses.
The course has come to an end and, with it, 4th year Fine Arts students put the finishing touch to their formative stage in TAI with two great final works that in the Pradiauto gallery.
Each generation has the task of resuming, relieving or destroying the legacy on which it is based, and, within the field of art, to contribute to new processes that enrich or demystify the accumulated imagination. These two projects, united by the concern of a group of artists who seek to explore the limits of artistic creation, they make us for moments return to that state of dreaminess and vitality that is lost over time.
Through a set of works, Styx and This dust makes this mud they let us look in a renewed way, experience unprecedented sensations and rediscover paper central that the images have in our conception of the world. We invite you to learn about each of these final projects curated by the teacher Julian Cruz.
Styx: a contemporary bestiary
Un contemporary bestiary that is nourished bye classical mythology, science fiction and magical realism to explore the blurred borders between the animal and the human. The publication reflects on timeless themes unrelated to the urgencies of today's society, drawing inspiration from literary classics such as Cortázar, Silvina Ocampo, Luigi Serafini and Clarice Lispector.
Estigia successfully and bravely proposes a hybrid territory, one that exceeds the limits of human and animal, but the one that above all expands the borders of reality, which is the quintessential task of any imaginative journey.
From the changing perception of animals in our society to the literary rediscovery of their power and symbolism, this collection of works shows the deep and often forgotten connection between humanity and animals, who reflect our most primitive and dark instincts.
In the subconscious, these powerful animals would no longer be the visible manifestation of our socially repressed instincts.

Exhibition: This dust makes this mud
This exhibition invokes the parable of Eden, where humanity emerges from clay, a mixture of water and earth destined for dust and dissolution. Expelled from Paradise, the artists reinterpret this continuous process of creation and destruction, using the plasticity of waste as a means to explore the eternal transformation that resides in each object.
Raised in a digital and often disembodied world, artists show an inclination towards the raw and rough. They challenge established narratives by exposing remains, dirt and despised elements that do not fit established artistic narratives. The exhibition transforms trash into art, poetically evoking impurity through images such as a crushed mosquito or dreamlike figures wrapped in plastic.
In short, an honest search to breathe life back into the rubble of time; to come back to knead the powder, give it shape and pronounce a new name until then secret.
