Pilar Carvalho, by Chico Barbosa, short film selected by D'A - Barcelona Author Film Festival
Chico Barbosa, a native of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) moved to Madrid to carry out the Master's Degree in Film Direction and TV Series from school TAI during the 2021/2022 academic year.
It was in this master's degree where he shaped his short film Pilar Carvalho, an experimental film, recorded with mini-DV tapes that has a different style of photography and sound drawing and tries to create a combination of genres: an atmosphere of death and joke, loneliness and mockery.
Pilar Carvalho, distributed by Moira Pictures, has been selected at the D'A - Barcelona Author Film Festival, an essential event to enjoy the best independent and author cinema that has been held from March 23 to April 2, with screenings throughout the city, and in parallel, on the streaming platform Filmin.
The film has been screened within the section A COLLECTIVE IMPULSE - SHORTS, competitive section of the new Catalan and Spanish cinema, in which he also competed last year A whisper, short film by alumni Iñigo Apestegui also distributed by Moira Pictures.
Synopsis
Pilar Carvalho is a film producer who works too much and doesn't earn what she deserves. Because of Felipe, an irresponsible intern, she will have to sign a contract on a Sunday.
