Musicals have accompanied the evolution of modern performing arts, combining music, dance, and drama in a format that excites and entertains.

Over the course of more than a century, some productions have established themselves as cultural milestones that defined eras and transformed the history of musical theater. We'll tell you about the famous musical theater works that have most influenced our history.


1. The Phantom of the Opera

Premiered in 1986, Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical became a symbol of Broadway and London's West End. Its story of love, obsession, and tragic beauty, along with one of the most celebrated scores in the genre, have kept it relevant for decades.


 

2. Les Misérables

An adaptation of Victor Hugo's novel, this 1980 musical stands out for its powerful narrative, social themes, and monumental music. Songs like I Dreamed a Dream o Do You Hear the People Sing? are already part of the collective imagination.



3. The Lion King

Since its premiere in 1997, the stage version of the Disney classic has been acclaimed for its stunning staging and innovative use of masks and puppets. The music by Elton John and Tim Rice lends an epic and emotional quality to the play.


4.Hamilton
