At just 23 years old, alumni Pedro Fuertes has already published his first novel «Thanks for crying», edited by Sar Alejandría and available in bookstores and other digital platforms.
Pedro Fuertes studied Cinematography in TAI, specializing in the field of Production. His passion for writing has led the artist to also devote himself to other artistic facets such as scriptwriting, essays and film criticism.
“Thank you for crying” demonstrates Pedro Fuertes' talent for telling and sharing stories in a captivating and honest way. In this novel, he mixes experiences, memories and reflections with the plot of a young journalist who interviews a famous robber, exploring themes such as rebellion or the passage of time.

Currently, Fuertes is working on the post-production of his first works as a film director with titles such as «Thrown into the mountains», a short film about the maqui movement in the 1940s and «The bare bottom» a feature-length fiction film still in the editing phase. Both works have the participation of students and alumni from the community TAI.

“Thank you for crying” This is the first novel by Pedro Fuertes that tells the story of a young journalist who travels to Algeciras to interview Ramón, one of the most famous robbers of all time.
The novel takes place in two timelines: the Memories of the journalist's childhood and youth, and her present while trying to conduct the interview. Through this structure, Pedro Fuertes completes the portrait of a woman who rebels against the contemporary and demands a revolution so that nothing changes.

The work deals with topics such as Identity, memory, rebellion and the passage of time, inspired by cinematic archetypes such as those played by John Wayne or Robert Mitchum. Fuertes' narrative style is influenced by authors such as Raymond Carver, Michel Houellebecq, Joseph Roth and Paul Auster, characterized by short and direct sentences and combining a introspective look and a structure inspired by cinema.
Since its release in November 2023, the novel has been presented in several bookstores and libraries, including the Eugenio Trías Library in El Retiro in Madrid, where it featured the participation of prominent figures such as director Juan Vicente Córdoba and the artist and alumni George Steane.
