A tour of the different elements that make up the sound system of the video game industry. 

In this course you will have the opportunity to analyze the different types of games and the sound they require, as well as learn the different composition and sound design techniques for video games.

Program

  • Introduction: presentation, tools, distribution of classes.
  • Industry and game audio: work team, types of video games and musical genres, roles and functions of music in the game and workflow of musical composition and sound design.
  • Work material: engines, middleware, daws, plugins and hardware.
  • Introduction to FMOD and Unity.
  • FMOD integration with Unity.
  • Sound design: sound organization, ADD, sound libraries, voice over and dubbing.
  • Composition techniques for video games: loops, stingers, one shots, vertical layering, interactive music and dynamic music.
  • Sounding and implementation in project.
  • Project Completion.
  • Focusing your career on getting your first job in the industry: show reel, skills and abilities to develop, job interview processes, resources, budgets.

Alberto Raya

CEO at AR Film Scoring Studios, a music composition and production studio for audiovisual media, as well as a freelance composer and music producer.

In 2019 he received a scholarship from the Community of Madrid for the composition of Milesius and the Prophecy of the Tower, where he combines folklore and film music together with a narrator, a format that represents an evolution from the musical story to the symphonic story.

At the age of 26, he created and developed, in addition to assuming the role of musical director, the Colmejazz Big Band socio-pedagogical project, with which they have performed concerts throughout the Community of Madrid. They have released an album with the Uno Música label.

He has composed numerous soundtracks for short films, advertising and video games, including the soundtrack for Paralysis, don't stay asleep (directed by Alejandro Barvel) and the soundtrack for the video game Carlos, Rey Emperador (Padaone Games).

He is a teacher in TAI, artistic coordinator of EA Centro Artístico Musical, head of studies at the Center for Recreational Activities of Artistic Expression, Music and Theater of Colmenar Viejo and professor of clarinet in the Higher Degree of Music in Musical Progress and in the Association of Band of Music of Colmenar Viejo .

Aimed at students aged 18 and over with basic audiovisual knowledge.

At the end of the course, a diploma and certificate will be delivered attesting to having satisfactorily completed and passed it.
